Jason in Bulgaria 2

Our vacation sure went fast! Early tomorrow we will fly back to the US. Here are some pictures of Jason and parents and Jason in water. In case we haven’t mentioned it before, Jason loves water!

By the way, I have updated the website header photos to reflect an older, “more mature” Jason. We think he has grown up a lot during the trip so I thought it was fitting.

Jason in Bulgaria

Right after Jason attended his first wedding, Jason took his first international trip. We left for Bulgaria on Sunday afternoon and arrived safely and on time in Sofia.

We have now been in Bulgaria for more than a week and visited many different relatives and seen many different towns. Our trip has already ranged from the city to the mountains, and included views of ancient ruins, beautiful nature, and wonderful goats.

More pictures will be coming soon. For now, here is Jason test driving our rental car, a family picture, and Jason waiting for dinner.

Jason at a Wedding

Jason attended his first wedding this weekend. The wedding was in Massachusetts and Jason was very well bahved the entire drive up. When we first arrived at the wedding, he was a little bit shy, but very soon he started enjoying himself and having fun. The first picture is when he was running around during the cocktail hour. The second is one of the many times he ran to the front of the room to hear the music and dance. The last is a family photo from before the ceremony.

Conrgratulations to the Chris and Christie!

Jason Sleeping

Yesterday, we took a trip to the Pallisades Mall. First had lunch and played some games at Dave and Busters.  The food was great and we had a lot of fun in the game room. With all of our tickets we won a small ball and a kazoo for Jason.

After lunch we did a little bit of shopping. Jason was well behaved the whole time and we were able to find everything we needed. In between Mom and Dad had coffee, Jason had milk, and we all shared some ice cream.

When we left the mall, it was raining and there was a lot of traffic. Jason and Mom fell asleep. Dad drove and snapped this picture with his cell phone while stopped in traffic.

Jason at 14 Months

It’s been a while since the last post. Jason is now over 14 months old. He will have a doctor’s appointment today for his official height and weight, but we think he has grown a lot recently. He’s very active, now running around the house and finding new ways to get into trouble. He has learned several new words like “more”, “hi”, “zoo”, “baba” (Grandma), and he answers the telephone with “hello” which comes out like “oooo”.

The pictures below are from Jason’s cousins’ birthday party in Connecticut last weekend. Mitchell turned one, and Carson turned two or three. After the long car ride, Jason had a chance to go for a walk in the grass. Later in the day he played with Mitchell in the Step 2 Fun Flow Play Sink. Both kids really enjoyed it. Jason kept pouring water on Mitchell until he was soaked.

Jason Dancing

Today I watched Jason while Hristina went to my cousin’s wedding shower. We had a fun day, which included a walk to Starbucks, playing outside, running around inside, and a little bit of dancing.

I also finally took the time to figure out how to transfer and edit videos from the new video camera I bought Hristina for her birthday. Before this, we were using a Flip video camera, which is actually much easier to use for editing and uploading.

Here’s a video of Jason dancing. Don’t mind the mismatching socks… I dressed him today. He’s holding the (missing) sock and a wooden letter block from his bench.

The song is from Toad the Wet Sprocket. Hristina and I recently saw the lead guy Glen Phillips perform in Tarrytown from front row seats.

Growing Up Fast

Jason has been growing up fast.

A few months ago, he took his first steps, then almost immediately started to walk, now he is practically running, especially if he has gotten a hold of something he’s not supposed to have!

Jason now says many different words or sounds and tries to identify things. He says “Hi” at the beginning (and sometimes the end) of telephone conversions. He says “Ma,” which he uses to identify a monkey, a cat, a dog, a squirrel, or most other animals. Also sometimes his mother. He says “Ga” for birds. He makes a “Brum-Brum” sound when he sees cars. Lately he says “De.”

Jason has also gotten into the habit of pointing to this he wants to pick up or hold, such as the telephone or remote control. He also points to things he wants eat or drink like his water bottle or food.

Jason likes pushing buttons on his toys (or our telephones, computers, and electronics). He likes opening and closing doors, drawers, or containers. He likes being outside and being with his family.

Soon Jason will celebrate Easter. It will be the first holiday he has celebrated twice!

Jason’s First Birthday Party

This post is a bit belated, but Jason had his First Birthday Party on March 21, 2009. We celebrated the party at his Grandparent’s house in Connecticut.

We were very happy that so many people were able to come to the party including some of Jason’s aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, Grandparents, and Great Grandmother. It was nice weather for March in Connecticut so we were able to spend some time playing outside with all of the children who attended. The food was great, the cake was beautiful, and we think everyone had fun!

Thank you to everyone who was able to celebrate Jason’s first birthday with us, and thank you for all of the wonderful gifts!

In all of the excitement, we actually didn’t take very many pictures. If anyone has any pictures that they can share from the party, please send to Hristina or Mike.

Below is one of the few photos we took of Jason with birthday hat and party noise maker.

Happy Birthday Jason!

On Thursday March 19, Jason celebrated his first birthday! We had a small party and small cake to celebrate, but his big party will be today.

Here are a few recent pictures of Jason and one from his birthday.

Jason’s First Steps

About a week ago Jason started taking one or two tentative steps. They were tiny steps and usually taken when he was close to his destination, usually a table or toy he could hold onto. Later in the week, he was taking bigger steps and starting to seem more confident. Yesterday, I was happy when I captured him on video taking a few steps.

Just as we were getting used to Jason taking a few small steps, this morning he surprised us by walking across the entire room! We have him on video from this morning- walking!
