Jason at 2 Years and 4 Months

At 2 years and 4 months old, Jason is a happy and mischievous young boy with a personality all his own. He likes to have fun, which sometimes means getting himself into trouble. He is alternately fearless or scared of harmless things like butterflies or ants.

Jason is usually shy with new people or new situations, but after about five minutes quickly becomes accustomed and starts to enjoy himself. Jason dances, jumps, and sometimes makes funny faces. He is always quick to smile or laugh and is surprisingly tender to his little brother Robert.

Below are a few recent pictures of Jason being Jason.

Jason at Another Wedding

Jason attended a wedding with his parents over the weekend. The reception was in Hastings-on-Hudson, which is very close to Hristina’s parents, so little Robert stayed there while Jason went to have fun.

At the party, Jason met a new friend Raphael. He shared his toys and told him the story of “The Little Engine That Could” (Jason’s version of the story).

After he finished eating, Jason was the first one on the dance floor. He spent the rest of the night dancing and having a great time.

Congratulations to Mareli and Marcelo!

Jason’s New House

Jason's New House

On Monday, June 14, 2010, we moved into our new house! Jason seems to like his new home and new room, although he claims that there is a doggy under his bed.

The entire move from White Plains was accomplished in one day thanks for help from some excellent movers. We spent the next few days cleaning and unpacking and held a party for Robert’s Christening in the new house only five days later.

Jason’s grandmother also celebrated her 60th birthday that week. Below is a picture with the birthday cake and ice cream cupcakes.

Finally, here’s a recent picture of Jason eating watermelon!

Jason Helping Us Pack

After a long and arduous process, we will hopefully be closing on the purchase of a new home this coming week. We have been packing slowly over the past few weeks, but accelerated the process recently. Jason has been helping us pack too!

Jason has also been enjoying the summer in his swimming pool. He calls it a “water pool.”

Jason in the Rain Forest

Lately, Jason has wanted to try out some of Robert’s things.

As soon as he saw us bring out the Rain Forest Play Mat, he immediately wanted lay down there, play the music, and play with the butterflies and the horse (giraffe). He also spent the next few days playing cars on the mat.

(You can also see Robert in the rain forest at Robert.me.)

The following week, Jason wanted to lay down in Robert’s stroller. He ended up playing there for about an hour. Both occasions made for some nice pictures!

Jason’s New Bed

Last weekend Jason got a new “big boy” bed, so his little brother Robert could use his crib.

Jason was immediately excited about his toddler bed and has been sleeping there without any problems for the past week.

Below is a picture of Jason asleep in his new bed. I showed Jason the picture and he said, “Jason lay down new bed.”

In separate news, Jason’s little brother Robert now has his own website at Robert.me! Check out the new site at http://robert.me/

Big Brother Jason

Jason and Robert

Jason became a big brother this week. Robert Alexander Zielinski was born on Monday, March 29, 2010 at 9:50 AM. He weighed 8 pounds and 7 ounces. The new baby came sooner than we were expecting, but we are happy that everything went smoothly and everyone is healthy.

So far Jason has been a good brother to Robert. He visited him every day in the hospital ( “see baby”) and welcomed him home today. Jason also says “Robert”, “Robert bed”, “Robert crying”, “Robert blanket” and more.

Jason seems to be taking everything in and adjusting to our bigger family. Every once in a while, we catch him in a thoughtful moment.

Thoughtful Jason

Jason’s Second Birthday Party

Jason\'s Birthday Party

Last weekend we had a birthday party for Jason at Bertucci’s in Shelton, Connecticut. It was great to have everyone together to celebrate the occasion. Jason had a great time and is enjoying all of his new gifts.

Thanks to everyone for coming and celebrating with us!

Happy Second Birthday Jason!

Happy Birthday Jason!

Today is Jason’s second birthday!

As you can see, Jason has been enjoying his birthday. He has been saying “Happy Birthday Jason” and when we ask how old he is, he says, “two!”

Jason and Cars

Jason loves the movie Cars. We bought it for him a few weeks ago and he has been watching it for at least a few minutes every day.

He calls some of the cars by name. He knows “Mater” and “King.” For some reason he calls Lightning McQueen “Face-a.” He came up with this the first time I showed him the cover of the DVD and he has been saying it ever since. We think it might be a name made up from “Face” since the car has a face.

This weekend, I got him a few of the cars from the movie.
