Jason in Mexico

We recently went for a brief vacation in Cancun, Mexico. With so much happening this year, we didn’t have time for a summer vacation, so a few days in an all-inclusive resort was a nice break.

Jason had an absolutely wonderful time. He spent hours in the pool riding on his “water horse” and hours playing in the beach sand burying his cars. He also made friends with some similar aged children during dinner one night. Other highlights included the soap and toilet paper.

Below are pictures of Jason and his “water horse”, in the sand with Robert, and one evening out with the boys.

Jason, Max and Ruby

For about a month, all Jason would want to watch was Max and Ruby. When not watching the show, he would play with his Max and Ruby beanie babies or want us to read his Goodnight Max book.

This has been one of several phases that Jason has gone through involving nonstop playing, talking about, and watching one particular show or movie. It started with a few months of Barney, followed by a few months of Elmo, many months of Cars, and then Thomas the Train.

After his brief break with Max and Ruby, Jason has gone back to Thomas.

He also likes playing with toilet paper.

Jason, Trains, and Accidents

When Jason plays with his trains, he usually narrates what the trains are doing. Here is a five minute sequence of trains averting or making accidents.

This started off as a video of Robert, but ended up as a video of Jason…

Jason and Halloween 2010

This year for Halloween, Jason was dressed as a mouse. His grandmother Mila made the costume for Jason’s father many years ago.

Jason went to a party at Hrisina’s office where he collected a lot of candy and ate a lollipop. On Halloween night, he went trick or treating around his neighborhood.

Below are a few recent pictures. Lately, Jason has been very difficult to take pictures of, since he is always running around and doesn’t look at the camera.

Recent Jason Pictures

Below are some recent Jason pictures from the past few weeks.

The first is Jason dressed in a new outfit from his Great Grandmother in Bulgaria. Following is a picture from Jason’s visit to his Great Grandmother in Connecticut.

Then there a picture with Jason and some goats during a trip to the Dutchess County Fair. And last, a picture of him laughing and having fun.

Recently, Jason enjoys Thomas the Train, which has replaced his former favorite Cars. He remains very active and talkative. He is currently very fond of saying “Good Morning!” which he will say at any time of day or night.

Jason Playing with Trains

It’s been some time since we posted a video of Jason. For a while, every time we tried to take a video, he would want to hold the camera. Recently, when we start recording he runs away laughing.

The following are three attempts at making a video of Jason playing with trains. The last one concludes with Jason’s current favorite word, “Don’t!”

Brothers

Jason has been a wonderful brother to Robert. They are separated in age by two years and ten days.

Jason is considerate to Robert’s smaller size and the attention that we give him as the new baby. Jason will share toys with Robert, although sometimes he will need to try out the new toys first. Jason explains to Robert what “Top Hat” and Thomas are doing and tells him the names of the other trains. If one of the two is crying, the other will often join in sympathy. If Robert is tired during a car ride, Jason will sing to him in made-up words until he falls asleep.

Below are two recent pictures of Jason and Robert together. The last picture is Jason with his new haircut!

Jason at 2 Years and 4 Months

At 2 years and 4 months old, Jason is a happy and mischievous young boy with a personality all his own. He likes to have fun, which sometimes means getting himself into trouble. He is alternately fearless or scared of harmless things like butterflies or ants.

Jason is usually shy with new people or new situations, but after about five minutes quickly becomes accustomed and starts to enjoy himself. Jason dances, jumps, and sometimes makes funny faces. He is always quick to smile or laugh and is surprisingly tender to his little brother Robert.

Below are a few recent pictures of Jason being Jason.

Jason at Another Wedding

Jason attended a wedding with his parents over the weekend. The reception was in Hastings-on-Hudson, which is very close to Hristina’s parents, so little Robert stayed there while Jason went to have fun.

At the party, Jason met a new friend Raphael. He shared his toys and told him the story of “The Little Engine That Could” (Jason’s version of the story).

After he finished eating, Jason was the first one on the dance floor. He spent the rest of the night dancing and having a great time.

Congratulations to Mareli and Marcelo!
