Jason Eating with Music

Just a quick video that I really like. Jason is eating some avocado while music is playing. (It is one of my favorite CDs of all time: Star by Belly from 1993).

Lately, he wants to take the telephone or video camera every time he sees us using it. I had to sneak up on him to get him on video before he noticed.

Jason Going on 1.5 Years Old

Next week Jason will be one and a half years old!

He’s been growing up fast. He says many different words and has many fun ways of playing and expressing himself. He says “blueberry”, “strawberry”, “apple”, “don’t”, “did”, “no”, “yeah”, “baby”, “up”, “down”, “water”, “on”, “go”, “hi”, “bye”, “this”, “ball”, “gimme” “done” “wow” and some words he made up himself like “bebo”, “onie” and “dowa”. There are many more words that he can say and understand, with the list growing every day. He also tries to repeat things we say, even if he doesn’t know what the words mean yet.

For playing, he likes to put on Mom’s slippers and walk around the house. Lately he has also been taking my place at the computer every time I leave my chair. He has been a great help and an asset to the business!

Below are two pictures of his favorite household activities and a video from today. Enjoy! (In the video, the house is a mess because I was babysitting.)

Jason Dancing

Today I watched Jason while Hristina went to my cousin’s wedding shower. We had a fun day, which included a walk to Starbucks, playing outside, running around inside, and a little bit of dancing.

I also finally took the time to figure out how to transfer and edit videos from the new video camera I bought Hristina for her birthday. Before this, we were using a Flip video camera, which is actually much easier to use for editing and uploading.

Here’s a video of Jason dancing. Don’t mind the mismatching socks… I dressed him today. He’s holding the (missing) sock and a wooden letter block from his bench.

The song is from Toad the Wet Sprocket. Hristina and I recently saw the lead guy Glen Phillips perform in Tarrytown from front row seats.

Jason’s First Steps

About a week ago Jason started taking one or two tentative steps. They were tiny steps and usually taken when he was close to his destination, usually a table or toy he could hold onto. Later in the week, he was taking bigger steps and starting to seem more confident. Yesterday, I was happy when I captured him on video taking a few steps.

Just as we were getting used to Jason taking a few small steps, this morning he surprised us by walking across the entire room! We have him on video from this morning- walking!

Jason Walking…. Almost!

We think Jason is just about ready to walk. Right now he still holds onto our hands or the furniture to get around. Here’s a video of him making his way towards the remote controls.

Jason Dancing

It’s been a while since we’ve posted a video. Here you can see Jason standing, clapping, and dancing!

Around We Go Jason Video

Here is a quick video of Jason exercising in his Around We Go!

Jason in the Exersaucer

Here is a video of Jason in his exersaucer from this weekend. Lately he has been very active and making many interesting sounds. Watch him play and listen near the end of the video!

Jason’s Newest Trick

This week Jason discovered a new trick.

He supports himself on his hands and knees, rocks back and forth, and then tries to leap forward. He seems to prefer this new style of leaping to his old style of crawling.

Here’s a video of Jason leaping around his crib.

Jason Eating and First Tooth!

This Friday we had a happy surprise. We noticed that Jason had his first tooth! It’s one of his lower front teeth.

We also recently started feeding Jason solid foods. So far he has tried rice cereal, sweet potatoes, and carrots. He seems to like the rice cereal the best and is now eating quite skillfully.
